I love this way of shifting perspective…that is indeed what any artist does, whether he/she is a painter, photographer, musician, actor, writer, dancer, yogini or meditator…we witness each moment, each person, each circumstance with fresh senses so that our response/expression is authentic.

It’s interesting that you wrote this, because yesterday I was sitting in a new city, people watching from a cafe window. At first I saw the people through very “trained” eyes of judgment. Then I switched gears and said, “Every person you see is a ball of energy, Megan, put here by God.” The whole canvas changed. It wasn’t as masterful as what you wrote here, but it allowed me to view life through a different set of eyes…
What a fabulous concept!

Yes, I originally was going to go on to “What is is like to see the world through the eyes of a famous novelist. Imagine you are Faulkner.” etc. But it would be too predictable to be interesting, at least in the same poem.
